Traditional flint clinging to a magnesium block. Using the hacksaw blade, scrape the shavings from the magnesium block. Then, using the knife along the flint, strike sparks on the magnesium to light it. The shavings of the magnesium block burn quickly and become extremely hot, making them an excellent way to start a fire.
